Man Utd keeper close to Antalyaspor move

Manchester United goalkeeper Victor Valdes is on the verge of joining Antalyaspor according to Fanatik.

Valdes has been closely linked with the newly promoted Super Lig outfit this summer. The report claims that Antalyaspor hope to bring the Spanish international keeper to Antalya on a private jet tomorrow.

United boss Louis van Gaal recently stated that Valdes will be leaving Old Trafford this summer.

He [Valdes] is not selected because he don’t follow our philosophy. There is no place for that one player,” Van Gaal was quoted as saying by Goal.

“When you are not willing to follow the principles of the philosophy there is only one way – out.”

However, Valdes’ agent Gines Carvajal recently ruled out a move to Antalyaspor.

“I’ve been contacted by a series of individuals from Turkey to negotiate a move for Victor,” Carvajal told AS.com.

“But I haven’t spoken with the president of the Turkish club in question. I don’t know him. I have no plans to talk with them again as my player has no interest in a move to Antalyaspor.

“His only wishes are to remain at Manchester United and he has another year left on his contract. We don’t see any reason for him to leave the club.

“United are amongst the top two or three best teams in the world. Victor is keen to fight for a place next season and wants to help the club as much as he can.”

Galatasaray and Besiktas have also been closely linked with the experienced keeper over the transfer window.

The former Barcelona keeper has won almost everything there is to win in club and international football including the La Liga, Champions League, World Cup and European Championship.

Antalyaspor were only promoted to the top-tier over the summer but have wealth backers and recently signed Valdes’ former Barcelona teammate Samuel Eto’o.
