Man Utd missing Robin van Persie says Rio Ferdinand

Manchester United were held to a goalless draw against Chelsea at Old Trafford despite creating the majority of the chances.

United were unable to convert over the course of the 90 minutes which was mainly down to poor finishing.

Former United star and football pundit Rio Ferdinand revealed that he thought the Red Devils made a mistake in selling Robin van Persie over the summer and that they could do with another striker.

“The likes of Robin van Persie guarantee you 15 games a season,” Ferdinand said speaking after the goalless draw between Manchester United and Chelsea.

“Robin van Persie would come off the bench and change the game.”

Van Persie joined Fenerbahçe from Manchester United on a three-year deal over the summer transfer window.

The Dutch star already has nine goals and one assist in all competitions for the Yellow Canaries this season – more than any other United player.

The experienced striker scored in the 2-1 victory over Sivasspor at the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium today with his first touch of the game.

Fenerbahçe go into the winter break in second place just one point behind league leaders Beşiktaş.
