Manchester United have revealed that they will take on Galatasaray in a pre-season friendly in Sweden as part of the club’s Tour 2016, presented by Aon.

The club confirmed the friendly on their official website and revealed that the game will be played at the Ullevi Stadium on Saturday 30 July, kick-off 7.30pm (local time).

United managing director Ed Woodward, said: “The team has a valuable combination of domestic and overseas games against tough European opposition.

“Playing games across a number of countries allows our tremendous fans the opportunity to watch the team play, and importantly the number of games allows the manager and team the best opportunity to prepare for the coming season.”

Josse Mourinho will take charge of his first game against Galatasaray in charge of United in the process.  The Portuguese manager has faced the Lions as Real Madrid boss in the past.

Mourinho will take on his former player Wesley Sneijder who won the treble with him back at Inter Milan.

Galatasaray won the Turkish Cup last season but struggled in the league and will not be able to compete in European competition next season due to a UEFA competition ban for failing to meet FFP regulations.
