The German international midfielder Ilkay Gündoğan is close to putting pen to paper on a contract extension with Borussia Dortmund.
The German newspaper Kicker has reported that talks between Gündoğan and Dortmund have progressed positively and there’s every indication he will pen new terms “in the coming weeks”.
The report in Kicker went onto say that new deal will see Gündoğan’s current €4.5 million salary doubled.
The 24-year-old’s contract runs out in July 2016 and Dortmund will be keen to cash in if Gündoğan does not sign a new deal.
Gündoğan has four assists and two goals in 22 appearances for Dortmund this season.
