Manchester United back in for Borussia Dortmund midfielder Ilkay Gündoğan

Manchester United have re-ignited their interested in Ilkay Gündoğan after it became clear there were no lingering effects from his long back term injury that kept him out for BVB for over a year according to Sport Bild.

The 24-year-old’s contract runs out in July 2016 and Dortmund will be keen to cash in if Gündoğan does not put pen to paper on a new deal.

Manchester United, Arsenal and Liverpool have all expressed an interest in Gündoğan

The hard working midfielder was one of the central figures of the Dortmund side that reached the final of the UEFA Champions League in the 2012-13 season.

Gündoğan has  four assists and has scored two goals in 19 appearances for Dortmund this season.

The 24-year-old was born in Germany and is of Turkish descent. Gündoğan represents the country of his birth and is bilingual in Turkish and German.

United are currently fourth in the Premier League and take on their rivals Liverpool next.
