Manchester United join Galatasaray in the race to sign Marcos Rocha

Galatasaray have been linked with a move for Atletico Mineiro’s right back Marcos Rocha according to Eurosport TR.

However, the Lion’s are expected to face competitions from Manchester United who are also contemplating a bid for the 26-year-old.

Calcio News 24 claims that United have turned their attentions towards Rocha after Dani Alves extended his contract with Barcelona. Neither club have yet launched an official bid for the Brazil international.

Galatasaray are in the market for a new right back this summer after with Emmanuel Eboue set to leave and Tarik Camdal’s poor performances since joining last season.

Rocha who has three years remaining on his contract, provided four assists in 28 games for Mineiro last season. The 26-year-old has also previously played for the Brazilian club Ponte Preta.

Galatasaray ended the 2014-15 season with 77 points following their 1-1 draw with Rizespor in their final game of the season.

The Istanbul giants will qualify directly for the Champions League group stages next season.
