Manchester United target Ilkay Gundogan 'glad' that the season is over

Ilkay Gundogan has stated that he is ‘glad’ to see the curtain come down on Dortmund’s disappointing season.

The 24-year-old also stated that he is unsure whether he will leave Dortmund this Summer.

“I’ll leave it open as to whether they [Dortmund] continue with or without me. BVB are a great team and a really good coach is coming.” Gündoğan was quoted as saying by Yahoo.

‘I don’t know how the team will look next season. The challenge will be to get the great potential of this team back on the pitch. We managed to do that too little during the last year.

‘In some ways we’re glad this difficult season is over now.’

The Premier League duo Arsenal and Manchester United have been closely linked with the Germany international over the past month.

Gündoğan has finished the season with five assists and three goals in 33 appearances in all competitions.
