Manchester United target Mert Gunok as De Gea replacement
Manchester United are keeping tabs on the Turkish international goalkeeper Mert Fehmi Gonuk, whose contract with Fenerbahce expires at the end of the season.
According to the newspaper Metro, the Red Devils are considering a move for Fenerbahce’s shot-stopper in the summer.
If De Gea leaves, Gunok would likely find himself behind Victor Valdes in the pecking order should he complete a switch to Manchester.
The Turkish international is currently second choice keeper at Fenerbahçe behind Turkish international Volkan Demirel.
West Ham United and Besiktas are also monitoring the situation of a player who is unlikely to be offered a new contract this summer.
The 26-year-old has conceded 14 goals in 14 appearances for Fenerbahçe this season. The 25-year-old has also kept a total of four clean sheets in all competitions.
