Man United team news: Mourinho dealt injury blow before Fenerbahce clash

Manchester United had a weekend to forget after being held to a goalless draw at home against Burnley, having Jose Mourinho sent to the stands and Ander Herrera shown a red card.

The Red Devils are not in the best of form but had looked like they had turned the corner after beating Fenerbahce 4-1 at Old Trafford in their last Europa League game.

United have the chance for another moral boosting victory when they take on the Yellow Canaries on Thursday but will be in for a tougher test in Istanbul.

Mourinho will be without Antonio Valencia who has been ruled out with a broken arm he suffered in the Manchester derby last week.

The experienced manager revealed that Valencia will under surgery today on the official United website.

Eric Bailly and Chris Smalling are also out injured leaving Mourinho with a mounting injury crisis in defence.

In other Man United team news Mourinho promoted youngsters Joe Riley and Axel Tuanzebe to first-team training today hinting that he may rotate his side for the Fenerbahce clash. The Portuguese manager did of course make nine changes going into the last Europa League game.

Germany international star Basian Schweinsteiger also trained with the first team after being banished to the reserves since the summer.
