The former Liverpool defender Martin Skrtel is in a race again time to prove his fitness ahead of Fenerbahce’s clash with Manchester United in the Europa League.
Skrtel suffered a broken nose against Feyenoord last week. However the Slovakia international played on and even featured during Fenerbahce’s clash with Osmanlispor on Sunday.
The 31-year-old underwent surgery earlier today and shared a photo of the aftermath on his Instagram account.
Fenerbahce face Manchester United on October 20 at Old Trafford.
