Mehmet Topal is expected to play against Gaziantepspor this weekend after scans have revealed his ankle injury to be less server than initially expected.

The defensive midfielder came off injured during his sides 4-1 victory over Rizespor in the Ziraat Turkish Cup.

Fenerbahçe qualified for the quarter-finals following the win. Sivasspor, Kayserispor, Bursaspor and Mersin İdman Yurdu have also qualified for the next stage.

Manisaspor, Gençlerbirliği/Eskişehirspor, Galatasaray/Konyaspor will battle it out for their right to play in the quarter-final today.

Topal has scored three goals in 23 appearances for Fenerbahce this season. The Turkish international has played all but one of Fenerbahce’s 19 league games.

Fenerbahce travel to Gaziantepspor this weekend as they look to reture to the top of the Turkish Super League. The Yellow Canaries sit in second place with 43 points in 19 games and have won their last four away games.
