Felipe Melo is expected to recover in time for his sides clash against Kayseri Erciyesspor in the Turkish Super League.

The Brazilian international missed the game against Sivasspor after feeling pain in his lower back.

Galatasaray have placed Melo on a specialised training program for the week in order to get the defensive midfielder ready for the weekend.

Semih Kaya is also expected to return to Galatasaray’s starting line-up in place of Kray Gunter against Erciyesspor.

The Lions moved into first place in the league following their 3-2 victory over Sivasspor. However, Fenerbahce can move ahead of Galatasaray if they beat Akhisar tonight at home.

Galatasaray host 15th placed Erciyesspor this weekend at the Turk Telekom Arena.

The former Fiorentina man joined Galatasaray on a permanent deal from Juventus worth £3 million last summer after playing the previous two seasons on loan at the Lions.

Melo has scored one goal in 26 appearances for Galatasaray this season.
