Galatasaray midfielder Felipe Melo has highlighted the similarities between Brazilian and Turkish fans in an interview with Sambafoot.

“The Turkish public is very demanding. A bit like the Brazilian public. They are fanatics about football. My secret is professionalism,” Melo said.

Melo believes that Turkish fans like players who give it their all for the team.

“Here, I’ve played with a broken rib, with 40 ° C fever… I always want to be on the pitch. My concentration is the same if I play against Real or face a D3 team. I want to win and defend the colors of Galatasaray,” he added.

Melo has a cult following among Galatasaray fans but divides opinion among supporters of other clubs.

The 30-year-old joined Galatasaray on a permanent deal on a £3 million move from Juventus last summer but had played the previous two seasons on loan at the Lions.

Melo was voted as the third best Brazilian player in Europe of 2014 by Sambafoot.
