Mesut Ozil must deliver ‘week in week out’ says Arsenal legend Thierry Henry

Arsenal team news

Arsenal legend Thierry Henry believes that Mesut Özil is undoubtedly a very talented player but that he must showcase what he has to offer on a consistent basis.

Henry has been full of praise for the World Cup winner lately following an impressive run of form providing eight assists in his last six games.

“It is not just about the quality of the player but how often he can deliver and he is starting to deliver week in week out,” Henry said speaking on Sky Sports before the 1-1 draw against Tottenham.

The 27-year-old playmaker setup Gibbs with the equaliser against north London rivals Tottenham on the weekend breaking the Premier League record for assists provided in consecutive games (6).

The Arsenal star had been criticised for his languid style and not performing in big games but he has managed to win over his critics this season after an impressive start to the league and Champions League campaigns.

Özil is in the best form of his Arsenal career since joining the Gunners on a record breaking £42.5 million transfer fee from Spanish giants Real Madrid in 2013.
