Mesut Özil prefers to play in the UEFA Champions League

Mesut Özil has stated that he prefers to test himself in the UEFA Champions League against the worlds best players.

The 26-year-old also stated that the Champions League gives him an opportunity to show the entire world what he is capable of.

“The champions league is something that the whole world watches,” Özil told Adidas Football’s Game Day Plus.

“My goal is to show the entire world during the UEFA Champions League what I am capable of.

“In a tournament like the UEFA Champions League you know that you have to prove your self against the best.

“For me personally, I prefer to be playing against the best, because I’ve got one goal which is to show the entire world what i am capable of.

Özil has scored three times and created four goals since returning to the starting team in January.

The Gunners have won seven out of their eight Premier League games in which Özil has started in 2015.

Arsenal must score at least three goals or more against Monaco if they are to have any chance of progressing to the last-eight.
