Mesut Özil is expected to be included in Arsenal’s clash with Sunderland in the Premier League today.

Arsenal fans will be looking for the 27-year-old to step-up in Alexis Sanchez’s absence. The Chilean international pulled up with a hamstring injury during The Gunners 1-1 draw with Norwich last weekend.

Fortunately for Arsenal fans, Özil has been in a rich vein of form having scored goals against Bayern Munich and Manchester United.

The 27-year-old also found the back of the net last weekend and has been widely praised by fans and pundits alike.

Özil has been named the Vitality Arsenal Player of the Month after an exceptional November. The Gunners playmaker has now won the award for the second consecutive month.

The Germany international also broke the record for providing assists in six consecutive games and then broke his own record by setting up goals in his last seven games.
