Mesut Ozil is expected to be fit for Arsenal’s clash with last seasons Premier League champions Chelsea.

“He had an inflamation on his foot and yesterday morning we looked and he was not very well. He was not 100 per cent at Liverpool so I decided to leave him out,” The Gunners boss Arsene Wenger stated at the post match press conference.

“I think he should be back for next Sunday.”

The 27-year-old sat out of Arsenal’s 0-0 draw with Stoke City due to a ‘slight foot injury.’

The 27-year-old has provided 16 assists and has found the back of the net twice in 26 appearances for the Gunners this season.

Arsenal moved back into pole position in the Premier League following their draw today. The North London based side are level on points with Leicester City and one point ahead of Manchester City.

Arsenal take on last seasons champions Chelsea next weekend as they look to extend their lead at the top of the table.
