Mesut Özil – ‘The title holder hold on’ [divider]
Arsenal beat Brighton 3-2 at the Amex stadium to reach the FA Cup fifth round.
Theo Walcott gave the Gunners the lead inside two minutes and Mesut Özil doubled Arsenal’s advantage on 24 minutes with his first goal of 2015.
Chris O’Grady gave Brighton a glimmer of hope when he scored five minutes into the second half but Rosicky restored the Gunners two-goal lead just minutes after.
Sam Baldock scored a consolation goal with 15 minutes left on the clock but it proved to be too little too late.
Özil expressed his delight at scoring in his first start since suffering a knee injury against Chelsea last October via twitter.
The record £42.5 million Arsenal signing tweeted, “The title holder hold on! ✌ #YaGunnersYa #FACup”
Özil was part of the Arsenal side that won the FA Cup last season, ending the North London club’s nine year trophy drought.
The 26-year-old attacking midfielder now has two assists and two goal in 11 appearances for the Gunners this season.
