Mesut Ozil played a staring role in Arsenal’s 2-0 victory over West Brom in the Premier League earlier this week.

The 27-year-old surprisingly took the joint highest amount of shots (4) for the Gunner’s during their win at theĀ Emirates.

Ozil also made one key pass, took 92 touches and maintained a passing accuracy of 84%, which is below his usual standards.

The 27-year-old was included in Arsene Wenger’s starting eleven and was deployed in his favoured number ten role behind the striker Olivier Giroud.

However, it was Ozil’s teammate Alexis Sanchez who stole the limelight on the night. The Chile international found the back of the net twice to ear the Gunners all three points.

The Germany international is just two assists off matching Theirry Henry’s Premier league record. Despite his impressive assist record Ozil was surprisingly left out of the PFA player of the year team.
