Mesut Ozil wants to leave Arsenal at the end of the season

Mesut Ozil wants to leave Arsenal at the end of this season according to the Spanish newspaper Marca.

The daily sports paper claim that the 27-year-old will be looking for a ‘change in the air’ however, Arsenal will not make it easy for him to leave.

The former Real Madrid midfielder’s current deal with the Gunners expires in 2018. According to the Sun, Ozil was in talks over £160,000-a-week in deal which will keep him at Arsenal until 2019.

Ozil has been in impressive form this season with six goals in all competitions as well as 16 assists in the Premier League – the highest in the league.

Arsene Wenger’s side are currently joint second in the Premier League with rivals Tottenham. The London based side is five points behind leaders Leicester City.

The Gunners’ have the opportunity to reduce the gap to just two points when they take on Leicester this weekend in the league.
