Mesut Ozil has taken to social media to wish his Arsenal teammate Alexis Sanchez a happy birthday.
The Chilean international who is currently sidelined due to a hamstring injury, turned 27 yesterday.
Ozil uploaded a picture of Sanchez and himself celebrating a goal to Instagram along with the caption, “Happy birthday, Alexis! #AFC #Sanchez #YaGunnersYa.”
Sanchez has been in impressive form this season, the former Barcelona forward has provided six assists and scored nine goals this season.
Özil has won the Arsenal Vitality Player of the Month award for the past two consecutive months and has 13 assist in just 15 Premier League games this season.
The Germany international played a key role in the Arsenal’s win over Olympiacos which saw the Gunners reach the Champions League Last 16 for the 15th consecutive season.
Arsenal take on Manchester City on Monday in a critical league encounter which could see the North London based side go top. Özil has won back-to-back FA Cups since joining Arsenal from Real Madrid.
