Milner can replace Liverpool legend says Emre Can

Liverpool contract rebel Emre Can Liverpool legends

Liverpool legend Steven Gerrard parted ways with the club over the summer but Emre Can believes James Milner has been able to step into his place.

Can stated that Milner has brought back some of the experience that was lost with Gerrard leaving.

“The experienced players need to pass on their knowledge to the young members of the squad so with Stevie [Gerrard] leaving at the end of last season it is definitely good to have another experienced player like James Milner here,” Can told the Official LFC Magazine.

Milner joined the Premier League giants on a free transfer from Manchester City over the summer transfer window and has played 90 minutes in each of the Reds four games this season.

The experienced midfielder is currently on international duty with the England national team.

Can meanwhile is also on international duty after receiving his first call-up for the Germany national team. The  21-year-old had played for Germany at u21 level but was also eligible for the senior Turkish national team.

The young midfielder is one of three Germany national team players of Turkish origin including Arsenal star Mesut Özil and Borussia Dortmund midfielder İlkay Gündoğan.
