Beşiktaş defender Ramon Motta revealed that he believes the Black Eagles can beat Liverpool in Istanbul if they play like they did at Anfield.
The Eagles lost the Europa League Round of 32 first-leg 1-0 and will face Liverpool in the return leg on Thursday 26 February at the Atatürk Olympic stadium.
“We did everything the coach asked of us and he said that if we manage to play like that at home in front of our fans, we can get the victory,” Motta told the official UEFA website.
Motta admitted that he is looking forward to the second-leg although he will not be playing after picking up an automatic suspension for yellow card offence in the Liverpool game.
“Now we have the return leg to look forward to,” he added.
Beşiktaş centre-back Ersan Gülüm also picked up a suspension after being shown a yellow card against
Slaven Bilic will have to play 21-year-old centre-back Atınç Nukan in defence and will be hoping Ismail Koybaşı recovers from injury in time for the second leg or he may be forced to play central midfielder Atiba Hutchinson as a fullback.
