Besiktas want Chelsea youngster Nathan Ake on loan

“I have a very short squad, I need everybody,” Mourinho was quoted as saying by the Express.

However, the experienced manager also admitted that despite having all his available players in the squad he left Nathan Ake out.

“I had all my players here today, just [Nathan] Ake in the stands,” he added.

The Black Eagles have been keeping tabs on Ake and club president Fikret Orman recently travelled to London to hold talks with an unnamed player believed to be the young Dutch midfielder.

“I was in England and held talks with Chelsea but it would be wrong to disclose who the negotiations were regarding,” Orman told Best FM.

“The talks are ongoing, if I was to tell you who the transfer was regarding it could make the move more difficult.”

Mourinho also underlined that Mohamed Salah – also linked with Beşiktaş – would be staying at Chelsea.

Ake has only made one start for the Blues in his career.

The Blues have a policy of loaning out young talent but Ake has never left the Blues on a temporary move since signing in 2012.
