Mustafa Pektemek praised by Besiktas board member

Beşiktaş board member and press officer Metin Albayrak has praised striker Mustafa Pektemek following a string of impressive performance for the club.

Pektemek has two goals in his last three games and wrapped up the three points in the 2-0 win over Trabzonspor, scoring in the fifth minute of additional time.

“Mustafa has been through so many injuries but he always fights back and gives it his all with no fear of getting injured again,” Albayrak told Beşiktaş Tv.

The Turkish international has spent most of the season on the sidelines and only recently recovered from injury.

Pektemek suffered fractures to his face following a collision with Essiad Belkalem in Besiktas’s victory over Trabzonspor in December.

The Beşiktaş striker recently signed a four-year contract extension keeping him at the club until July 2019.

Pektemek joined the Black Eagles on a £3.2 million move from Gençlerbirliği in 2011.

The Turkish international has a total of five goals and two assists in all competitions this season.
