Fenerbahçe linked with Valencia midfielder Mehmet Topal

Fenerbahçe have been linked with a move for Valencia midfielder Mehmet Topal. The Yellow Canaries have struggled in the defensive midfield position over the course of the season and feel Topal would strengthen the squad.

The Turkish international was linked with a move to Premiership clubs Chelsea and Manchester City during the summer transfer window and Valencia chairman Manuel Llorente has previously confirmed interest for Topal from Internazionale.

Mehmet Topal, nicknamed the 'Spider', has played 28 times this season for Los Che and has two years left on his contract. The 26 year old dual footed defensive midfielder enjoyed a successful Europa League campaign in which he helped Valencia reach the semi-finals of the competition.
