Beşiktaş have officially confirmed the signing of Arsenal midfielder Oğuzhan Özyakup on a four year contract.
Özyakup underwent a medical yesterday at the Maslak Acıbadem hospital ahead of completing his move to the Istanbul club.
The Black Eagles released a statement on the Turkish Stock Exchange (KAP) disclosing the details of the transfer. Arsenal will receive €500000 in player fees while Özyakup will make €400000 in 2012-13 season plus a €100,000 sign-on bonus.
Özyakup will then go on to earn €425000 in 2013-14, €450000 in 2014-15 and €475000 in 2015-16 in addition to a €7500 bonus for each match played up to a 40 game period per season.
The new Beşiktaş signing told reporters while undertaking his medical, "I'm very pleased to have become part of the Beşiktaş community, in my opinion Beşiktaş is one of Turkey's biggest clubs and God willing we will be successful as a team.
"There are big names at the club, this is an advantage for me, I have a lot to learn from them," he said.
The Turkish Under-21 midfielder is the product of the AZ Alkmaar academy and Arsenal FC academies. Özyakup signed for Arsenal on schoolboy forms on 1 September 2008 from AZ Alkmaar.
Özyakup played a major role in Arsenal's Under-18s side that won the Premier Academy League title in 2009 and captained the Dutch side to the final of the 2009 Under-17 European Championships before switching allegiances to the Turkish national team.
