Fenerbahçe are interested in Liverpool

Fenerbahçe are interested in a possible loan move for Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani.

The Istanbul club have began preparing for next season by looking for a replacement for Atletico Madrid bound Emre Belözoğlu.

Aquilani is facing an uncertain future following the end of his loan stay at AC Milan.

The Italian Internationals agent Franco Zavaglia told, Sportitalia, "He could join them [Liverpool] at the beginning of July to start pre-season training with the English club.

"At this time there are no clubs interested in him."

The 27-year-old midfielder joined Liverpool from Roma in 2009 for £20 million however, Aquiliani failed to settle in and was subsequently loaned to Juventus with a future purchase option in 2010-11.

Juventus opted not to make Aquiliani's loan move permanent resulting in another loan move to fellow Serie A outfit AC Milan.

Aquiliani played featured in 31 games this season, scored a single goal and made seven assists. The Italian International has two years left on his contract at Liverpool.

Fenerbahçe could face competition from AC Milan, the Italian club has not ruled out a move for Aquiliani.
