Dirk Kuyt arrives in Istanbul & passes medical
Dirk Kuyt arrived in Istanbul yesterday to hundreds of welcoming fans.
The former Liverpool player underwent his medical today in the Medical Park Göztepe hospital.
Speaking to reporters present, Kuyt said, "I have researched the history of Fenerbahçe, I knew Fenerbahçe was a big club from playing days at Feyenoord.
"The atmosphere at the Fenerbahçe-Feyenoord game was incredible and deeply moved me, from that day forwards I had always wanted to part of a club with such amazing support.
"I want to go down in Fenerbahçe history, to win trophies and become a part of the club.
"It would be great to score against Galatasaray in the derby and repay the fans for their support" he said.
Kuyt is set to star in a signing ceremony to be held at 13:00 in the Fenerium store located in the Şükrü Saracoğlu stadium in front of supporters and the press.
The 31 year old Dutch international joined the Istanbul club from Liverpool for €1 million.
Kuyt signed a 3 year contract with the Istanbul club worth €2.85 million per season in addition to a match bonus of €17,500.
Kuyt joined Liverpool in 2006 from Dutch giants Feyenoord and went onto represent The Reds 285 times, scoring 71 goals in addition to 38 assists.
