Turkish match-fixing trial - 19 prison sentences handed out

The conclusion of the year long match-fixing investigation which rocked Turkish football last summer has been reached today at the Çağlayan courthouse:

Aziz Yıldırım (Fenerbahçe chairman) - Yıldırım was given a two year six months sentence for forming an unarmed criminal organization which intended to obtain financial income through sport. In addition Yıldırım was handed a three year nine months sentence for for fixing and manipulating the outcome of games.

Bülent Uygun (Elazığspor manager) - 11 month prison sentence for manipulating the results of football games

Bülent İşçen - Two years, four months sentence for fixing and manipulating the outcome of football matches

Ali Kıratlı - One year 10 month sentence for match-fixing

Gökçek Vederson (Bursaspor football player) - Five month sentence for manipulating the outcome of football games

Ali Yıldırım - One year, one month sentence

İbrahim Akın (IBB football player) - One year, six month sentence for manipulating the outcome of football games

İlhan Ekşioğlu (Fenerbahçe board member) - Three years, one month sentence for match-fixing and manipulating the outcome of football games as well as a 900.000 Turkish Lira fine.

Mecnun Otyakmaz - 10 month conviction for being a member of an an unarmed criminal organization which intended to obtain financial income through sport. In addition to a one year, six months sentence for involvement in match-fixing during the Sivasspor-Fenerbahçe match last season.

Şekip Mosturoğlu (Fenerbahçe board member) - One year, three months suspended sentence for being a member of an an unarmed criminal organization which intended to obtain financial income through sport. As well as a further one year, 10 month sentence for match-fixing and trying to manipulate the outcome of football matches.

Mehmet Yıldız (Karabükspor football player) - One year, three months sentence

Sami Dinç - One year, 14 month sentence

Samet Güzel - Two years, two month sentence

Serdal Adalı (Former Beşiktaş Vice-President) - One month, three months sentence

Tamer Yelkovan - One year, three months sentence

Ümit Karan (Former Eskişehirspor Sporting Director) - Seven month sentence

Yavuz Ağırgöl - One year, eight months suspended sentence

Yusuf Turanlı - One year, three months suspended sentence for being a member of an an unarmed criminal organization which intended to obtain financial income through sport. In addition to two years, six months conviction for match fixing.

Tayfur Havutçu (Former Beşiktaş manager) - One year, three months prison sentence
