Fenerbahçe have rekindled interest in Liverpool midfielder Alberto Aquilani. The Istanbul club had previously targeted Aquilani however, an official offer was never made.
The Yellow Canaries have been looking to strengthen their midfield following the departure of Emre Belözoğlu who recently signed for Atletico Madrid.
Aquilani faces an uncertain future, AC Milan decided not to make his loan move permanent. His agent Franco Zavaglia told Tutto Mercato Web, "At the moment Aquilani is a Liverpool player and will certainly start pre-season training with them, then we'll see what happens.
"The new manager will decide whether to keep him or not.
"I don't think he's coming back to Italy and he hasn't expressed any particular preference, but this time I hope Liverpool can tell us in time if he's not part of their plans so we can find him the right club," he said.
The 27-year-old midfielder joined Liverpool from Roma in 2009 for £20 million however, Aquiliani failed to settle in and was subsequently loaned to Juventus with a future purchase option in 2010-11.
Juventus opted not to make Aquiliani's loan move permanent which resulted in another loan move, this time to fellow Serie A outfit AC Milan.
Aquiliani featured in 31 games last season, scored a single goal and made seven assists. The Italian International has two-years left on his contract at Liverpool.
Fenerbahçe finished the league campaign as runners-up last season and also lifted the Turkish Cup.
The Yellow Canaries will be using the lure of a lucrative salary, Champions League as well as first team football to try and secure a deal.
