Galatasaray activate Burak Yilmaz release clause with €5m offer
Galatasaray have activated Burak Yilmaz's €5 million minimum fee release clause.
The Istanbul club released a statement on the Public Disclosure Forum (KAP) confirming the offer, "Galatasaray football club have made Trabzonspor a €5 million offer for Burak Yilmaz. If Yilmaz agrees terms with Galatasaray, Trabzonspor will receive 25 per-cent of transfer fees if Yilmaz is sold to another club."
The Trabzonspor striker has a €5 million release clause, any club has to right to enter directly into negotiations with the striker if a €5 million offer is made.
Yilmaz has been in prolific form for Trabzonspor over the past two seasons. He guided the Black Sea club to pole position in the 2010-11 season scoring 19 times, only to lose out on winning the championship to Fenerbahce on goal difference.
The 26-year-old Turkish international netted 35 times in 41 games last season and his modest €5 million release clause has attracted the attention of major clubs across Europe.
