Galatasaray complete €8m signing of Kayserispor winger Nordin Amrabat

Nordin Amrabat has officially joined Galatasaray

Galatasaray have completed the transfer of Nordin Amrabat from Kayserispor.

The Istanbul club released a statement on the Public Disclosure Forum (KAP) confirming the move, "Galatasaray have signed Kayserispor player Nordin Amrabat for €8 million on a five-year contract.

"We will also pay PSV Eindhoven €600,000 due to a clause in his contract. Amrabat will on a €1 million salary 2012-13, €1.1 million salary 2013-14, €1.2 million salary 2014-15, €1.3 million salary 2015-16 and a €1.5 million salary 2015-16."

Amrabat told Turkish newspaper, Star, "I fell in love with Galatasaray during their UEFA Cup 2000 winning campaign.

"I became a Galatasaray supporter aged 13, it was always a dream to play for Galatasaray, a dream which has become a reality.

"I don't have any aspirations of leaving for a club in Europe, my only goal is to play for Galatasaray and retire here, I'd never leave Galatasaray, I love this league and as a muslim its an honour to be playing in the muslim worlds best league" he said.

The Lions have been active in the transfer market looking for a suitable left winger ahead of their Champions League campaign.

Galatasaray struggled down the left side of midfield last season, Albert Riera failed to live up to expectations, forcing Manager Fatih Terim into playing Emre Çolak out of position on the wing.

Amrabat joined Kayserispor from PSV for €1.1 million last season and went onto score six goals as well as make eight assists in 26 games.
