Nuri Sahin & Samed Yesil to start for Liverpool FC
Samed Yeşil is expected to make his Liverpool debut tonight against Young Boys in the Reds opening Europa League game.
Nuri Şahin will make his second start for his new club following his summer loan transfer from Real Madrid.
Yeşil could also get his first start for the Reds as Brendan Rodger left first team regulars including Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Joe Allen, Glen Johnson, Martin Skrtel, Daniel Agger and Pepe Reina.
Assistant coach Colin Pascoe praised Yeşil in an interview published on Liverpoolfc.com.
"He's only a young lad and there are a lot of young lads that are pushing for the first team and he has been very impressive.
"He's got good movement, a great touch and he's got an eye for goal. He wants to score and he wants to get."
Şahin speaking a pre-match press conference seemed excited about the prospect of playing in the Europa League.
The Turkish international midfielder said, "Every player wants to play Champions League but I am not the type of person to say it is a step down.
"The Europa League is a very good competition also and we will try to go to the end."
Şahin became the first Turkish international to play for Liverpool when he made his debut against Arsenal in the Premier League.
Yeşil despite having represented the German U-19 national team is of Turkish origin and is still eligible to represent the senior Turkish national team.
Emin Altunay became the third Turkish player to join the Reds last week. The Hatayspor youth was selected the winner of reality program, Football Prince.
Altunay will train at the Liverpool academy for a season with the possibility of being signed on a long-term contract.
