Fenerbahce terminate Alex De Souza's contract

Fenerbahçe have terminated the contract of Alex De Souza.
The Istanbul club released a statement on the Public Disclosure Forum confirming the latest developments, "Following today's meeting with Alex De Souza we thanked him for his contributions to club. "We agreed to mutually terminate his contract with the club."
Alex De Souza has had a troubled relationship with Aykut Kocaman, the Fenerbahçe manager dropped the Brazilian playmaker from the team after the weekend defeat against Kasımpaşa.
The decision to part ways with the club comes just two weeks after Fenerbahçe supporters unveiled a statue of Alex for his services to the club.
Alex wrote a Tweet, on his Twitter account following today's decision, "My contract with Fenerbahçe has come to an end, it was such a saddening moment. Fenerbahçe have lost a player but won another fan. Thank you all for everything."
The former Fenerbahçe captain joined the Istanbul club from Cruzeiro for €4 million in 2004.
Alex has guided the Istanbul club to three Turkish Super League titles including a memorable 2006-07 championship trophy on the Yellow Canaries centenary year.
In his illustrious career, Alex has scored 363 goals and made 254 assists in 896 games. Alex also has 49 caps for the Seleção, helped win the 1998 Copa America and captained his nation to their 2004 Copa America title.
