Liverpool youth Samed Yesil switches allegiance to Turkey

Samed Yeşil is reported to have switched allegiance to the Turkish national team

Liverpool FC striker Samed Yeşil is reported to have switched National team allegiances from Germany to Turkey according to a report published by Turkish newspaper, AKŞAM.

Nuri Şahin is thought to have been behind the move, the 24-year-old Turkish international convinced Yeşil to opt for the Turkish national side.

Yeşil has represented the German U-19 team however, is also eligible to represent the Turkish national team at senior level.

Liverpool FC signed Bayer Leverkusen youth Samed Yeşil for €1 million during the transfer window. The 18-year-old forward was born in Düsseldorf, Germany to Turkish parents.

Samed Yeşil became the second player of Turkish origin to join Liverpool this summer following the loan transfer of Nuri Şahin.
