Spurs interest in Belhanda cools as Fenerbahce move to complete deal
Fenerbahçe have stepped up efforts to sign Montpellier attacking midfielder Younes Belhanda following reports that Tottenham have pulled out of the race to sign the Moroccan international.
Spurs recently agreed a deal to bring Schalke 04 midfielder Lewis Holtby to White Heart Lane and already have options in Belhanda's position such as Clint Dempsey and Gylfi Sigurdsson.
Fenerbahçe are reported to have agreed personal terms with Montpellier attacking midfielder Younes Belhanda according to French radio station, RMC.
The 22-year-old Moroccan international is reported to have accepted a €2.4 million per-season deal with the Istanbul giants on a three year contract.
Negotiations between the Yellow Canaries and Montpellier are ongoing, Fenerbahçe increased their initial €8 million offer to €12 million.
However, Montpellier president Louis Nicollin told Ligue1.com has valued Belhanda at €15 million and is yet to accept the Canaries terms.
Nicollin said, "I think he [Belhanda] wants to leave.
"The price? If it rises to 15 million euros then everything's good.
Belhanda has made 22 appearances for Montpellier this season, scoring eight times, and is currently preparing to represent Morocco at the Africa Cup of Nations in South Africa.
