Trabzonspor manager Şenol Güneş resigns
Şenol Güneş has resigned from his position as Trabzonspor manager following the Black Sea clubs 3-1 loss to Elazığspor.
"I want to apologise to the fans," said Güneş post-match.
"I think Trabzonspor wil be better off without me. There is nothing wrong with the team physically or technically, the problem is psychological and that's a failing on my behalf.
"Trabzonspor will benefit from having a lease of new lift, I hope the fans and players support whoever the club appoints in my place.
"I'm certain that Trabzonspor will go from strength to strength."
Güneş achieved legendary status when he took the Turkish national team to the Semi Final's of the 2002 World Cup.
After a brief spell in South Korea he returned to Turkey to build a strong team at Trabzonspor, winning the Turkish Cup twice, the Super cup and finishing runners-up in the controversial 2010-11 season.
Tolunay Kafkas is expected to replace Güneş as manager of Trabzonspor.
