Bursaspor manager Ertuğrul Sağlam resigns
Ertuğrul Sağlam has resigned from his position as manager of Bursaspor following the Green Crocodiles crushing 4-1 defeat at the hands of IBB.
"I want to thank everyone," said Sağlam in today's press conference.
"The whole city opened their arms to us, we had such great times together, we both felt that magical feeling when hearing the Champions League soundtrack playing in our stadium.
"I didn't want to be remembered here for the wrong reasons.
"After winning the league title, my aim was to unite the cities establishment, the fans, the local media and our community under one roof so that we could move forwards together.
"Unfortunately we haven't been able to maintain out unity.
"I am resigning as it's in the clubs best interests."
Bursaspor became the second Turkish team outside of Istanbul to win the Turkish Super League when they lifted the title in 2010-11 under the guidance of Sağlam.
Hundreds of Bursaspor fans turned out to bid farewell to their hero Sağlam following news of his resignation.
