Liverpool set to make a €23 million bid for Atletico Madrid midfielder Arda Turan
Liverpool are set to make a €23 million bid for Atletico Madrid's Arda Turan.
Spanish Newspaper AS has reported that Liverpool have been interested in Arda for over a year and have set aside €23 million to bring the Turkish international to Anfield.
Arda joined Atletico Madrid in 2011 for €13 million from Galatasaray and has made 50 appearances for the Los Rojiblancos.
Arda had been heavily linked with a move to the Premier League following comments made by his agent Ahmet Bulut last year.
Bulut told Turkish state broadcasting service TRT, "Arda has played at Atletico Madrid for two seasons now. I have wanted to see him play for another team in another league and Arda wants the same.
"I can't say the league or you'll know exactly who I'm talking about but let's just put it like this, there are only 5-6 clubs which could afford Arda right now and he's going to join one of these five clubs."
Liverpool have been closely linked with Arda however, no official offer has been made.
