Galatasaray 3-1 Elazigspor: Didier Drogba nets brace
Galatasaray took another step towards winning the league title for the second season running following a convincing 3-1 win over Elazığspor. Claudio Taffarel took charge for the second game running due to the suspension of manager Fatih Terim and his assistsants.
The Lions didn't take long to open the scoring - the leagues leading scorer Burak Yilmaz put the home side ahead within two minutes, scoring his 19th goal of the season.
Didier Drogba doubled Galatasaray's lead in the 19th minute however, Serdar Gürler pulled one back for Elazığspor in the 22nd minute to give the away side a glimmer of hope.
Elazığspor's dreams of a comeback were short-lived as Drogba extended the Lions lead further just minutes later with his fifth goal in nine games.
The win took Galatasaray seven points clear of second placed Fenerbahçe. Meanwhile Elazığspor dropped into 15th position just two points clear of the drop zone.
