Didier Drogba honoured to be offered Galatasaray Sporting Director role
Galatasaray striker Didier Drogba underlined that he felt honoured with being offered a Sporting Director role at the club after he retires.
Galatasaray president Ünal Aysal said, "Drogba is a great player, his quality is evident. After he retires if he plans on staying here we would be glad to offer him a role as Galatasaray Sporting Director."
The Ivorian international responded to the proposal in an interview with GS TV.
Drogba said, "It's still early to talk about what I will do after retirement, all I want to do is keep playing football.
"However, I felt honoured after hearing the offer, it's an honour to be considered like this."
The 35-year-old striker joined Galatasaray on a free transfer from Chinese club Shanghai Shenhua in January.
Drogba has already added to his silverware cabinet in the short time he has been at Galatasaray, the Lions won the Turkish Super League title for a record 19th time last week.
The Ivory Coast international has five goals and six assists in 12 league appearances this season.
