Galatasaray strong enough to beat Chelsea says Wesley Sneijder
Wesley Sneijder believes Galatasaray are strong enough to knock Chelsea out of the Champions League.
"A lot has changed since Real Madrid knocked us out of the Champions League last season," Sneijder said.
"Mancini has brought stability and we are far stronger now, it wouldn't be a huge surprise or upset if we were to knock Chelsea out of the competition."
Sneijder's teammate Selçuk İnan also revealed that he believes Galatasaray have what it takes to progress and that it will be an honour playing against Frank Lampard.
"Everybody is talking about the Chelsea game but right now we are focused on the league and the cup," İnan said.
"It won't be an easy two games but we do have what it takes to beat Chelsea.
"From a personal perspective I really admire Frank Lampard and it will be great to play against him."
Jose Mourinho knocked Galatasaray out of the Champions League quarter-finals with Real Madrid last season.
Real won the home leg 3-0 however, lost the away game 3-2 to go through 5-3 on aggregate.
Galatasaray face Chelsea in the round of 16, with the first leg due to be played at the Türk Telecom Arena on February 26.
