Nuri Sahin hails "great" relationship with Liverpool boss Jurgen Klopp

Borussia Dortmund has stated that he has a ‘great’ relationship with Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp.

Sahin thrived under Klopp at Dortmund, earning him a move to Real Madrid then Liverpool. Klopp later re-signed Sahin to the Bundesliga giants.

“We have worked together for seven, eight years,” Sahin told Sport1.

“That he knows us is beyond question. We know him well. We all have a great relationship with Klopp. That will not suffer in these two games.”

Dortmund take on Liverpool in the Europa League tomorrow evening at the Signal Iduna Park. The Bundesliga side go into the game in great form having won 15 of their 17 games in 2016 – drawing the other two.

Sahin has struggled with injuries this season and has made just six appearances for Dortmund this season.

Dortmund have been handed a major boost following Ilkay Gundogan’s return to first team training. Captain Mats Hummels and centre back Sokratis Papastathopoulos also returned to training after sitting out Saturday’s win over Werder Bremen.
