On-loan Liverpool winger set to miss Ajax game

Fenerbahçe winger Lazar Markovic will miss the Europa League tie against Ajax at the Amsterdam Arena on Thursday after picking up an injury during the 1-0 win over Osmanlıspor in Ankara yesterday.

Markovic had to be taken off on 37 minutes against and will miss the midweek European tie however, the severity of his injury will become known after the MR Scan that will be taken tonight.

The 21-year-old only recently recovered from an injury that saw him ruled out for three weeks following the 3-2 victory over Beşiktaş in the Istanbul derby before the international break.

Markovic joined Fenerbahçe on a one-year loan from Liverpool over the summer transfer window and has already established himself as a first team regular providing one assist in six appearances in all competitions.

The Yellow Canaries beat Osmanlıspor to close the gap with league leaders Beşiktaş to just one point.
