On-loan Man City defender Jason Denayer set to miss Galatasaray Champions League clash

Man City transfer news Galatasaray Jason Denayer

Galatasaray take on Astana at the Türk Telekom Arena in their final Champions League group stage game needing just a point to book a place in the Europa League Round of 32.

The Lions cannot book a place in the Champions League Last 16 but Astana who are just one point behind Galatasaray could still qualify for the Europa League with a win.

Galatasaray will not be able to call on on-loan Manchester City defender Jason Denayer for the game tonight due to injury.

Denayer had established himself as a key member of the Lions team and played regular league and Champions League football as a full-back and centre-back before getting injured.

The 20-year-old defender has found himself played in an unorthodox role as a right-back but has managed to keep Galatasaray veteran full-back Sabri Sarıoğlu out of the team.

Denayer has had no trouble settling into life in Turkey in fact he has already developed a taste for one of the most popular drinks in the country; tea or çay (chai) as the locals call it.
