Arsenal legend Ian Wright has backed his former sides midfield setup and revealed that he believes the only areas in need of strengthening are the goalkeeper and striker positions.
Wright underlined that the likes of Mesut Özil have improved the Gunners midfield.
“In midfield, we are very strong with Aaron Ramsey, [Mesut] Ozil, [Jack] Wilshere, Santi Cazorla, and also [Alex] Oxlade-Chamberlain in midfield,” Wright was quoted as saying in ESPN.
“And up front we have Theo [Walcott], [Danny] Welbeck, [Alexis] Sanchez and Olivier. One more top-class striker to make it four up there would give us a very, very good chance.”
Wright achieved legendary status as a player, the former England international lifted the Premier League title, both major domestic trophies, and the European Cup Winners Cup during his time at the North London based club.
The former Arsenal star finished 4th in 50 Greatest Gunners list on the Arsenal website in 2008.
Özil has been in good form since the turn of the year, winning two Vitality Team of the Month and one PFA Fans Player of the Month awards.
Arsenal are unbeaten in 16 out of the last 20 games in which the World Cup winner has featured since returning from injury.
