“I feel I am now playing my best football since joining Arsenal.”
Özil struggled at the start of the season and was then ruled out for three months with injury.
The World Cup winner been in impressive form since returning from injury. Özil has scored or provided an assist in seven out of the last nine league games he has played in.
Arsenal have won eight consecutive league games and Özil has featured in seven of them.
Özil is statistically the third best performing Arsenal player this season according to Whoscored with a rating of 7.63.
The 26-year-old was recently found to be the second best performing attacking midfielder in Europe since the turn of the year.
The 26-year-old scored 100 in the CIES Football Observatory’s latest performance rankings.
Özil is expected to start against Reading in the FA Cup semi-final on Saturday 18 April.
