“In the second half, we wanted to hold the result and conceded a goal. But ultimately we’re really happy with the result,” Özil told the official Arsenal website.
“We had many opportunities and maybe we should have won by more goals but the main thing is the three points and now we’ll turn our focus to the next game.”
Arsenal joined Manchester City in second place on 70 points following the win against Hull at the KC stadium.
The Gunners will however, overtake the Citizens with a win against Swansea as they have a game in hand.
Özil was involved in two of the three goals against Hull but did not add to the seven assists and four he has scored since recovering from injury.
The 26-year-old has been in impressive form since returning from injury around the turn of the year.
Özil has won two Arsenal Vitality Player of the Month awards and was also chosen as the PFA Fans Player of the Month for April.
