Ozil 'really upset' following Arsenal win over Leicester says Arsene Wenger

Mesut Ozil Arsenal v Everton - Premier League Arsenal 3-4-1-2

Arsenal beat Leicester City 5-2 and Mesut Özil provided an assist but the World Cup winner was really upset following the game according to Arsene Wenger.

Wenger said that Özil was disappointed with not having got his name on the scoresheet but praised the playmaker for his role in Alexis Sanchez’s goal.

“It was classy and the little frustration I have today is that he could not score a goal or the chance he had. He is really upset because he know he needs a goal as well but the ball he gave to Alexis was fantastic,” Wenger was quoted as saying on the official Arsenal website after the game.

The 26-year-old now has three assists for the Gunners this season but has yet to open his scoring account. Wenger has repeatedly stated that he wants more goals from Özil this season.

“It is not a science that everybody masters and can absolutely predict how many goals everybody will get,” Wenger was quoted as saying by Goal.

“I would rather have Aaron Ramsey get 15, Mesut Ozil 15, Santi Cazorla 10. Otherwise, if you have only one player who scores, when he is injured you don’t know who will score.”

Özil is known for his assist rate but only managed to scored five goals in 32 appearances for the North London based club last season.

The 26-year-old had 27 goals in 159 games for Real Madrid and 16 goals in 108 matches for Werder Bremen.

The Gunners take on Greek giants Olympiakos next at the Emirates in the Champions League.
